Application
CANIPUR - senior is a feed supplement containing a special blend of nutrients and active ingredients which have regenerative and protective effects on the organism of older dogs.
For all dogs, maximum life expectancy is genetically determined. Individual life expectancy, however, together with degradation processes in the organism and with character changes resulting from ageing processes, can be strongly influenced by a high-quality diet that meets all requirements. As dogs age, daily renewal of bodily substances decreases, resulting in diminished organ function as well as increasing susceptibility to disease. To counteract these processes effectively, the dog’s organism must be supplied with nutrients and active substances that will stimulate regenerative processes and at the same provide the dog with effective protection against toxic substances.
Ageing is an unavoidable biological process. However, a high-quality diet fulfilling all requirements can retard degradation processes in the organism and resulting changes in behaviour. Such a diet can, at the same time, have a highly beneficial effect on the course of both acute and chronic disease. Dogs supplied with this type of high-quality diet will remain healthy, active and playful even when they are very old.

General findings of nutritional science
A wholesome, needs-based diet can significantly delay age-related physical decline and corresponding behavioral changes. The course of acute and chronic illnesses is positively influenced
Antioxidants such as vitamins C and E, the provitamin beta-carotene and selenium are important immune substances. They protect against aggressive oxygen compounds ("free radicals") that destroy cell membranes and cells. They have a preventative effect against premature ageing, increased susceptibility to infections, cardiovascular diseases, skin changes and even cell malfunctions that can trigger cancer.
Proteins and amino acids are used to renew the body's substance. Protein stores diminish with age. This means that the dog no longer has any reserves available in the event of illness, heavy physical exertion or stress. A continuous supply of proteins and amino acids is particularly important for building up and maintaining body substance. The interaction of the amino acids from the gelatine with the glycosaminoglycans from the mussel concentrate promotes joint regeneration. Mobility and performance are sustainably improved. Pain from existing arthrosis and HD is noticeably reduced.
The organism needs vitamins, minerals and trace elements in sufficient quantities on a regular basis. Older dogs have a higher requirement because they are less able to store them. Even a short-term undersupply of individual organic substances can restrict the metabolism and severely impair individual or several organ systems (cardiovascular insufficiency, kidney failure, liver damage, arthrosis, digestive disorders, etc.).
Probiotics support digestion, protect the intestinal flora and activate the body's own defenses
