CANIPUR - senior
Complementary feed for dogs
CANIPUR - senior senior provides a complete and well-balanced supply for the older dog, which is the best basis for a long and active life.
CANIPUR - senior is a feed supplement containing a special blend of nutrients and active ingredients which have regenerative and protective effects on the organism of older dogs.
For all dogs, maximum life expectancy is genetically determined. Individual life expectancy, however, together with degradation processes in the organism and with character changes resulting from ageing processes, can be strongly influenced by a high-quality diet that meets all requirements. As dogs age, daily renewal of bodily substances decreases, resulting in diminished organ function as well as increasing susceptibility to disease. To counteract these processes effectively, the dog’s organism must be supplied with nutrients and active substances that will stimulate regenerative processes and at the same provide the dog with effective protection against toxic substances.
Ageing is an unavoidable biological process. However, a high-quality diet fulfilling all requirements can retard degradation processes in the organism and resulting changes in behaviour. Such a diet can, at the same time, have a highly beneficial effect on the course of both acute and chronic disease. Dogs supplied with this type of high-quality diet will remain healthy, active and playful even when they are very old.

Small dogs ( 4-15 kg): 5 - 20 g per day
Medium dogs (16-39 kg): 20 - 40 g per day
Large dogs (40-80 kg): 40 - 80 g per day
given with the feed.
Due to the increased content of vitamin D3 and trace elements daily ration should not be more than doubled.
For maximum effectiveness, the product should be applied over an extended period. Feeding for a longer period or the whole year round does not pose any problems and will be beneficial.

Antioxidants - including Vitamin C and Vitamin E, provitamin Beta-carotene, and selenium, are vital substances for the prevention of premature ageing, as they provide natural and extremely effective protection against the so-called free radicals. These are unstable and hence highly aggressive oxygen compounds that often interact with cell membranes and DNS, which is the carrier of genetic information. This results in cell death as well as changes in the genetic information, which in turn decreases the organism's regenerative capacity. This can impair organ function (a normal part of the ageing process) and decrease the effectiveness of the organism's immune system.
These processes can result in increased susceptibility to infections, heart and circulation disorders, skin disorders, premature ageing and eventually, since cell metabolism is no longer properly regulated, cancer. Inasmuch as protection against infiltration of free radicals and their formation in the organism is possible only to a limited extent, a regular and sufficient supply of antioxidants is the key to a healthy and vital old age for the dog.
Proteins and amino acids - are the most important building blocks for renewal of all organism substances. Because protein is depleted in dogs as they age, they lack the reserve supplies needed for regeneration during periods of peak demand such as when they are ill or when their organisms are subjected to high levels of stress, e.g., during strenuous exercise. That's why a regular supply of high-quality proteins and amino acids such as those provided by a combination of corn gluten and soybean meal is of particular importance for the build-up and maintenance of body substance in elder dogs. Amino acids from gelatine interact with glycosaminoglycans from mussel extract (the composition of which is similar to the composition of scleroprotein and the basic substance in joint cartilage), enhancing joint regeneration. This in turn brings about sustained improvement in the range of movement of the joints and reduces pain from existing degraded joints (arthroses, HD), thereby increasing overall performance and quality of life for the dog.
Vitamins, minerals and trace elements - must be supplied on a regular basis and in sufficient amounts if metabolic processes are to function smoothly and be free of any derangement. Elder dogs not only need greater amounts of these biological substances, but also suffer from the fact that they can no longer store them very effectively. That's why even a short-term deficiency in even a single one of these substances can severely impair metabolism, resulting in damage to one or more systems in the form of cardiac insufficiency, poor circulation, renal insufficiency or renal damage, liver damage, arthroses, digestive disorders, skin disorders, etc. The stress such disorders induce in the organism as a whole can accelerate the ageing process.
