General findings of nutritional science
Dry, flaky skin or cracked, poorly growing pads and claws as well as brittle hair and hair loss are often the externally visible signs of a lack of important vital nutrients
Biotin (vitamin H) is an essential nutritional factor that can only be stored in the body to a limited extent and must therefore be supplied regularly. Biotin deficiency symptoms manifest themselves in changes and inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes, hair loss and brittle claws.
Unsaturated, essential fatty acids are an indispensable component in the formation of cell membranes. This is particularly true for rapidly dividing tissues such as the skin and hair. Here, essential fatty acids reduce susceptibility to inflammation and allergic reactions, increase the resistance of skin and hair and accelerate the healing of pathological changes.
Copper is essential for regular pigmentation of the skin and for the formation of subcutaneous connective tissue.
Vitamin E protects the cell membranes from destruction by aggressive harmful substances and thus maintains the structural functionality and performance of the tissues.
Vitamin B6 and niacin are components of enzymes of the protein metabolism, to whose deficiency the skin reacts with itching and inflammatory skin changes.
Zinc is essential for the smooth functioning, regeneration and wound healing of the skin. A deficiency leads to rough and flaky skin, skin thickening and hair loss.
