Horses (500 kg): 25 g per day
Foals, young horses, small horses: 12 g per day
given with the feed.
Feeding period
For maximum effectiveness, this product should be applied for a period of at least 2 weeks. Feeding over a longer period or all year round is easy and improves the results.

Magnesium deficiency in horses
The mineral magnesium is involved in many processes in the horse's metabolism. The mineral, which is also an electrolyte, plays a key role in the transmission of various nervous stimuli. It influences muscle contraction, is involved in enzymatic metabolism and therefore also influences the horse's performance. A magnesium deficiency in horses can primarily be recognized by possible muscle cramps or tremors. The horse's hypersensitivity is often noticeable. It suddenly behaves much more jumpy and nervous. Under exertion and stress, the signs increase significantly.
Magnesium requirement in horses
As a rule, the need for magnesium can be covered by the basic feed. However, large amounts of magnesium are excreted in sweat during exertion. A not inconsiderable amount is also lost via the urine. The requirement is also increased during growth or lactation. It is therefore not uncommon for horses in training - especially on hot days and mares with foals - to have a magnesium deficiency. Thus, it is advisable to administer additional magnesium. Horses are very tolerant of higher doses of magnesium; this means that overdoses are usually excreted.
