Mineral feed for horses
The active ingredient-rich basic supply for active and vital growth.
Application
EQUIPUR - fohlen perfectly supports the healthy development of foals and young horses and balances a feeding deficiency which could lead to disturbances in skeletal development and to problems in growth (arthropathies with development of OCD, damage to sinews, or muscle problems), as well as performance weakness and increased proneness to infection.

Instructions for proper use
Foals 3 to 6 month: 30 g per day
Foals 7 to 12 month: 45 g per day
Young horses: 60 g per day
given with the feed.
The doses refer to medium-sized breeds (full-grown horse 500 kg). Due to the increased content of vitamin D3 and trace elements daily ration should not be more than doubled.
Feeding period
For maximum effectiveness, the product should be applied over an extended period.
General findings of nutritional science
Neglecting to feed young horses properly often only becomes apparent later on when they are under stress, in the form of poor performance, increased susceptibility to infection, muscle problems, tendon damage, and joint diseases. To avoid these risks, a constant supply of high-quality active ingredients is required.
Whey powder contains high quality minerals, vitamins and proteins in a natural compound. It is therefore an ideal balance for a mare‘s milk deficiency and should be provided after weaning.
Lysine and Methionine are indispensable for the development and formation of bones, musculature and organs.
Calcium and Vitamin D3 are essential for the development and strength of the bones and are responsible for the smooth functioning of the heart and skeleton musculature.
Iron, Zinc, Manganese and Copper are irreplaceably required for forming blood, as well as for bone and joint development.
Vitamine A, E, beta-carotene and Selenium protect frequently separating cells of a young animal from injurious oxygen compound, as well as from infectious diseases.
Tryptophan, probiotics and Kieselguhr have a calming and stabilising effect on the digestive system in time of stress or during change of feed.
INFOBOX
The right mineral feed for foals
During the first two months of growth, the foal receives all the important minerals, trace elements and vitamins from its mother. The mare's milk contains all the protective substances and vitamins, especially in the first few days, to protect the foal against bacteria and toxins in the new environment. For just a few weeks, mare's milk adequately meets the increased need for protein, energy and vital substances. Very early on, the foal also starts to eat other foods and from the 3rd month of lactation, the mother's milk no longer has enough nutrients to provide it with sufficient quality and quantity.
Mineral feed for foals and young horses
Due to development, the need for vital substances increases significantly. A balance with easily available, preferably organically bound micronutrients should now be aimed for in the foal. Micronutrients such as calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D, which are so important for bone metabolism, play a central role here. The trace elements (iron, zinc, manganese and copper) as well as the amino acids lysine and methionine should also be fed to avoid supply gaps.
