Application
EQUIPUR - carotin offers a complete supply to brood-mares and stallions of the fertility and embryo-protective vitamins A & E as well as betacarotene. A deficient supply of these vitamins could cause low heat, delayed ovulation, a low conception rate, loss of embryo, bad servicing behaviour as well as inadequate sperm quality.

General findings of nutritional science
The harmonious combination of beta-carotene as well as the vitamins A and E have a special effect during low heat, delayed ovulation, low conception (fertility), bad servicing behaviour, inadequate sperm quality, as well as irregular growth and rearing problems with suckling foals.
Beta-Carotene is a provitamin for reproduction; it will severely deteriorate during prolonged storage.
With a mare, beta-carotene effects stimulation of hormonal synthesis in the ovaries, promoting a regular cycle and strong heat. After fertilisation, beta-carotene activates the synthesis of the pregnancy hormone progesterone which significantly increases the embryo‘s chances of survival.
With stallions, beta-carotene deficiency induces regression of testicle tissue which can decrease sperm-cell production and can also suppress synthesis of the male sex hormone testosterone, which is followed by loss of libido and unsatisfactory sperm quality.
Vitamin A is an important vitamin stimulating the synthesis of reproductive hormones and protecting the mucous membranes of the uterus.
Vitamin E acts as a fertility hormone in stallion- and mare-gonads, thus augmenting the prevention of sterility. As an anti-oxidant, it guards against the break-down of vitamin A and beta-carotene.
