Application
EQUIPUR - metabol supports the function of the liver during chronic liver insufficiency (interrupted liver metabolism) as for equine metabolic syndrome (EMS). High quality biocatalysts and anti-oxidants protect the liver, promote the quick excretion of metabolic end-products and support the transformation of feed into performance-effective substances.

General findings of nutritional science
The liver is the body's powerhouse. It plays a decisive role in the conversion of food into performance-enhancing substances and in the detoxification and excretion of metabolic waste products. If it is permanently overloaded (e.g. due to excess protein, illness, medication or toxins) or in the case of metabolic imbalances such as equine metabolic syndrome (EMS), effective detoxification of the organism is no longer possible. This can be remedied by nutrients and active ingredients that protect the liver and support its metabolic activity.
Herbs such as milk thistle, artichoke, dandelion and liquorice root harmonize liver functions and promote bile production thanks to their regenerative active ingredients.
Choline and lecithin are important building blocks of liver cells and are particularly important for regeneration processes; choline also plays a decisive role in fat processing within the liver. Lecithin is excreted with the bile and supports the utilization of fats and oils.
Zinc and betaine support the rapid processing and excretion of metabolic waste products in the liver, especially lactate.
Arginine from the soy protein concentrate is indispensable in the liver for the rapid and effective detoxification of urea, the end product of protein metabolism.
Unsaturated, essential fatty acids from high-quality vegetable oils are an indispensable component in the renewal of organ and tissue cells. They also reduce vulnerability to inflammation and allergic reactions and accelerate the healing of pathological changes.
As biologically active sulphur compounds, methionine and MSM have a significant influence on the liver's ability to function in the conversion and detoxification of metabolic products.
As antioxidants, vitamins A, C and E protect the horse's liver in particular from the effects of aggressive harmful substances.
