Application
EQUIPUR - digest plus provides with probiotic digestibility enhancers and intestine-active substances for a stabilisation of the intestinal flora as well as for a regular intestine movement. This is especially important during variable food quality, after illness or medication resulting in colic, toxic strain, failed fermentation, or loose manure. The prevention of nutritional health problems in the horse‘s intestine demand strict attention.

Instructions for proper use
Horses (500 kg): 100 g per day
Young horses and ponies: 50 g per day
Foals: 25 g per day
given with the feed.
As a preventative the dosage may be halved. Due to the increased content of trace elements daily ration should not be more than doubled.
Feeding period
For maximum effectiveness, the product should be applied over an extended period at least for three weeks. Feeding the whole year round does not pose any problems and will be beneficial.

General findings of nutritional science
Poor quality feed, changes in feeding times or other stress for the horse can lead to fermentation failure, colic, loose manure, or diarrhoea. These inevitably decrease the level of performance; tense muscles and loss of appetite are also a sign of this condition. A reasonable combination of digestive active substances can either prevent derailment of the digestive machine or support the regenerative process after illness and operation of the gastro-intestinal tract. Last but by no means least, a healthy intestinal fl ora leads to an increased health status and therefore to an improved well-being, reduced disease proneness and a distinctly heightened ability in performance.
Probiotics are living and, in the horse‘s intestine, augmentable yeast cultures. They improve the intestinal flora by promoting the required microbial settlements, the displacement of ill-making germs, the neutralization of poisonous substance as well as the stabilisation of the pH-value. In addition there is an effective activation of natural, indigenous power of resistance by the stimulation of the immune system in the intestine.
Prebiotics (MOS = Mannan-Oligosaccharide) and fermented cereals increase the indigenous immune rejection and promote performance capability.
Herbs like milk thistle, artichoke, dandelion, and liquorice accelerate the detoxication of toxins through the liver.
Kieselgur can bind twenty times more liquids of its volume and is therefore effective in regulating the water content of the intestine during diarrhoea, periods of excrement water and during constipation. Kieselgur can also bind harmful substances and accelerate excretion.
Wheta bran and apple pomace promote through their high content of raw fi bre the constant and smooth course of digestion processes.
Vitamins, dietary minerals and trace elements must be fed to horses with a limited intestinal function in special proportions as during interruption in the digestive tract or damage of the intestinal flora (e.g. by antibiotic therapy), the supply with these vital substances is often insuffi cient.
