INFOBOX
Live yeast in horse feed
In contrast to brewer's yeast, live yeasts in horses have an active effect on the horse's digestive metabolism. This feed additive, made especially for animals from the yeast saccharomyces cerevisiae, optimizes damaged intestinal flora. Studies have shown both better crude fiber digestibility and better milk yield in lactating mares. Live yeasts are able to harmonize bacterial overgrowth that leads to watery stools or diarrhoea in horses and support the growth of healthy intestinal bacteria. In combination with intestinal active vital substances and herbs, healthy defecation and optimum feed conversion are promoted and pathogenic germ formation in the horse's digestive system is suppressed.
