Dietetic complementary feed for horses
High-quality biocatalysts effectively support liver function and metabolism.
Application
EQUIPUR - metabol supports liver function in cases of chronic liver failure (impaired liver metabolism) and equine metabolic syndrome (EMS). High-quality biocatalysts and antioxidants protect the liver, promote the quick excretion of metabolic waste products, and support the conversion of feed into performance-effective substances.

given with the feed. As a preventative measure, the dosage can be halved.
Due to the higher content of vitamin D3 and zinc, the daily ration should not be more than doubled.
Feeding period
For maximum effectiveness, the product should be used as a course of treatment lasting at least three weeks. It is recommended to consult a veterinarian before feeding or extending the feeding period beyond 6 months.
General findings of nutritional science
The liver is the body's powerhouse. It plays a crucial role in converting feed into energy-producing substances and in detoxifying and excreting metabolic waste products. In cases of permanent overload (e.g., due to excess protein, disease, medication, or toxins) or metabolic disorders such as equine metabolic syndrome (EMS), effective detoxification of the organism is no longer possible. Nutrients and active ingredients that protect the liver and support its metabolic activity can help here.
Herbs such as milk thistle, artichoke, dandelion and liquorice root harmonize liver functions and promote bile production thanks to their regenerative active ingredients.
Choline and lecithin are important building blocks of liver cells and are particularly important for regeneration processes; choline also plays a decisive role in fat processing within the liver. Lecithin is excreted with the bile and supports the utilization of fats and oils.
Zinc and betaine support the rapid processing and excretion of metabolic waste products in the liver, especially lactate.
Arginine from the soy protein concentrate is indispensable in the liver for the rapid and effective detoxification of urea, the end product of protein metabolism.
Unsaturated, essential fatty acids from high-quality vegetable oils are an indispensable component in the renewal of organ and tissue cells. They also reduce susceptibility to inflammation and allergic reactions and promote faster healing of pathological changes.
As biologically active sulfur compounds, methionine and MSM have a significant influence on the liver's ability to metabolize and detoxify metabolic products.
Vitamins A, C and E are antioxidants that protect the horse's liver in particular from the effects of aggressive harmful substances.
INFOBOX
The multifunctional organ liver in horses
The liver performs a number of important metabolic processes in horses and is therefore one of the most important organs. Fats, carbohydrates and proteins are processed, toxic substances are broken down or excreted, blood proteins are formed and bile acid is produced and stored to break down fat. Excess glucose is stored in the liver and vitamins and trace elements (e.g. copper, zinc, iron, vitamin A etc.) are stored or processed with the help of various proteins, enzymes and hormones and made available to the body via the bloodstream. If the horse's liver becomes ill, these vital functions are impaired, leading to a wide variety of clinical pictures.
Symptoms of liver disease in the horse
The horse's liver has a high regeneration potential. Problems with the organ only become apparent very late. The first signs are often performance deficits, muscle loss or weight loss, skin and coat problems and poor hooves. In addition to parasites, plant-based liver toxins (toxins) from the feed or so-called endotoxins from the digestive tract in the case of excessive concentrates are usually responsible. In particular, secondary plant substances from herbs such as milk thistle, artichoke or dandelion stimulate the liver, protect the liver cells and promote bile production. Trace elements and vitamins as well as high-quality proteins also promote the regeneration of damaged cell tissue.
