General findings of nutritional science
Especially in the summer months, the well-being and health of dogs can be severely affected by external parasites (biting insects, flies, fleas, ticks). Their bites not only lead to bleeding and swelling, but itching, pain and allergic reactions can cause severe rubbing, resulting in inflammatory skin changes and hair loss. Therefore, especially in the summer months, special emphasis should be placed on the defense against external parasites and on increasing the body's natural resistance to allergic reactions.
Garlic, wild garlic and healing herbs not only stimulate digestion and metabolism, but also promote the resistance of the entire organism. The evaporation of essential oils and anti-allergic ingredients through the skin is extremely effective in reducing the nuisance caused by external parasites.
Linseed has a high content of unsaturated fatty acids, essential amino acids, mucilage and vitamin E. The unsaturated fatty acids have an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin and thus lead to faster healing of skin lesions. The mucilage supports digestion and, together with the essential amino acids in linseed, significantly improves the dog's nutrient supply.
Vitamins and trace elements are essential for a healthy and efficient energy metabolism; they also support and accelerate the regeneration of the skin and enhance the insect-repellent effect of the essential oils from garlic and wild garlic even further by increasing the evaporation of the skin.
INFOBOX
Supporting your dog's coat and skin with herbs
Today's dog food is usually very poor in natural herbs. Both raw feeding and the vast majority of ready-made foods do not offer the variety of natural active ingredients from plants and herbs that wild dogs used to ingest via the intestinal contents of their hunted prey or when "eating grass". However, the secondary plant substances in particular contain a large number of vital and active substances that stimulate the skin, coat and digestive metabolism. The plant substances contained in the herbs were also the only effective protection against parasites (internal and external) in dogs. In addition to plant substances, vitamins and trace elements that are important for skin metabolism are also provided. The special essential oils from garlic are partially "excreted" through the skin. This reduces the risk of parasite infestation (fleas, ticks and mites) in the animal's coat or skin. The special blend of herbs also stimulates digestion and improves the animal's immune system.
